As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and growing IK Trax’s presence in the global pipeline market. You will work closely with the commercial team on bids, build strong relationships with new and existing customers, and represent the company at events worldwide. This role is ideal for someone with a background in pipelines or instrumentation who enjoys travelling, meeting people, and driving results.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with the commercial team during bid preparation.
- Develop sales and hire opportunities for our products in the global pipeline market.
- Identify new leads and convert them into customers.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Keep in contact with existing and previous customers, sharing new products and services of interest.
- Understand customer requirements and suggest the right solutions.
- Deliver presentations and product demonstrations to clients.
- Travel to meet potential customers and represent IK Trax at events and exhibitions.
- Support the marketing team with content creation.
- Provide after-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work with technical experts to convert opportunities into sales.
- Prepare and submit quotes to clients, following up where required.
- Record and maintain client contact and enquiry data.
- Produce reports as requested.
Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in English plus another language is desirable.
- Ability to travel globally as required.
- Previous experience in pipeline pre-commissioning, inspection, or instrumentation is an advantage.
- Experience in an outside sales role preferred.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Confident delivering presentations.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible, approachable attitude.
- Experience using CRM software (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce).
- At least two years’ experience in the energy industry preferred, ideally with pipeline-related services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused, results-driven, and a strong team player.
- Ability to work independently on own initiative as well as part of a team.
